200Aoudad Hunting Season: Aoudad can be hunted year-round in Texas, however we recommend hunting Aoudad Oct-Feb since this is when they’ll be herding with the Ewes and much easier to spot.

Here on the Lonesome Bull Ranch we have some hilly terrain and low valleys that makes Aoudad hunting fun and a little challenging. We have over 500 head of Aoudad also known as Barbary Sheep. We would allow 2 days to choose the largest and best trophy for yourself. We have some of the largest Aoudad in the world, commonly harvesting 30”-32” Trophy Aoudad. There has been some controversy over the meat quality. We know that females and young males are good but have had mixed reports on the older males.

Interesting Aoudad Hunting Information

The Barbary sheep or Aoudad is a species of caprid native to Rocky Mountains in North Africa. Six subspecies have been described. Although it is rare in its native North Africa, it has been introduced to North America, southern Europe, and elsewhere. It is also known in the Berber language as awdad, waddan, arwi, and arrwis.

You may hunt our Trophy Aoudad Sheep using any method you prefer, including Spot and Stalk, Bow Hunting, Rifle Hunting, Pistol Hunting, Safari Style, or from a Blind. Our Aoudad are free ranging on over 2600 acres of South Texas Brush Country.

    We have full kitchen, cable TV, ice and a fire pit at your disposal. If a chef/cook is requested the usual rate (depending on how many in your group) starts at $125 per day for a group of 4 and up to $295 per day for a group of 20+ plus the price of groceries.

    We recommend making Aoudad Hunting reservations well in advance to secure availability.
