  • Origin: Asia
  • Horn Size:  24-32 Inches
  • Weight: 750-2,200 pounds
  • Lonesome Bull Ranch Population:32

The Water Buffalo also known as Asian Buffalo are the largest and most powerful of the bovid family. Here at the Lonesome Bull Ranch they can be seen in and around the ponds. They love to wallow in the mud to try and keep the flies off them. We have observed newborn, 3day old babies swimming with their mom. Water Buffalo meat, back strap steaks, loins, roast are tender and balance in hamburger or sausage. Most of our herd was born here and can be found together except a few large males that have been kicked out of the herd.

Interesting Water Buffalo Hunting Information

The water buffalo or domestic water buffalo is a large bovid originating in the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and China. Today, it is also found in Europe, Australia, North America, South America and some African countries. The wild water buffalo native to Southeast Asia is considered a different species, but most likely represents the ancestor of the domestic water buffalo.
