Dove Hunting in Texas

Dove Hunting Season: Dove season in Texas use to start around Sept 20th of each year but in 2019 the date changed to Sep 14th. The “probable” dates are Sept. 14 – Nov. 3 and Dec. 20 – Jan. 

Dove hunting is FREE with the purchase of any hunting package during Dove Hunting Season.

Dove hunting here on the Lonesome Bull Ranch in Texas has been compared to Dove hunting in Mexico. We have 2600 acres that are surrounded by farms growing sunflower, millet, corn and grain. We plant crops of our own throughout the Ranch late. We also have 18 ponds that stay full because of rain or we have well water running to most of them. A cleaning facility and restrooms are available for day hunters or we have lodging to accommodate any size hunting party (large or small). 

Texas Dove Hunting Itinerary

• 7:00 AM – 7:30 AM
  • Dove Hunters gather by the fire pit in front of main lodge for a brief orientation. Hunters will be dropped off immediately after orientation. Remember the name of the field you are dropped off in case you need to call your guide. Returning hunters may be dropped off during orientation. 
• 7:30 AM – 11:00 AM 
  • Dove Hunting; guides will check on hunters every hour. 
• 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM 
  • Guides will pick up hunters and return to lodges (or main barn for day hunters) 

• 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Lunch on your own and R & R
• 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM
  • Orientation for new hunters, and drop off for afternoon dove hunting.  
• 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
  • Dove Hunting; guides will check on hunters every hour. 
• 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Dinner on your own and R & R. Day hunters may use the restroom facilities by the barn and clean their birds at the cleaning stations. Day hunters must depart the ranch by 9:00 pm. 
• 10:00 PM
  • Entrance gates are locked and secured

• Dove Hunts (morning & evening): With lodging $150 per day

– The first 3 weekends are $150 per day (3 Day Min) 

• Dove Hunts with Lodging (morning & evening): $150 Per Day 

– Two day minimum

• Weekday Dove Hunting (All day, no minimum): $100                                                                                 
• Weekend Day Dove Hunting (All day, no minimum): $100 .                                                                                                                                                      
• Bulk Dove Hunt Package Deal:  $2,950*

– 10 weekend passes w/lodging (1 weekend day & 1 night lodging)

– 20 weekday passes w/lodging (1 weekday day & 1 night lodging)

– 10 day hunt passes
